WOLFGANG PUCK BAR & GRILL: A CONTEMPORARY TWIST ON A CULINARY CLASSIC New Restaurant Opens at MGM Grand In Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS – The chef who reinvented the pizza and elevated American cuisine to new heights, now has his sights set on a revered restaurant tradition, the bar and grill.
The Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill opened in June 2004 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and modernized the traditional “bar and grill” concept with fun and approachable dining in a spectacular setting combining the energetic feel of the beach lifestyle and the cool beauty of a California garden.
Located in the heart of MGM Grand, the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill captures the essence of the laid back California dining experience, which Puck himself made popular with Spago, his earliest Los Angeles restaurant. Crafted by esteemed designer Tony Chi, the playful but elegant design brings the casual bungalow and patio style to the bright lights of Las Vegas, complementing Puck's cuisine perfectly.
“To develop a unique and creative new menu and present it in a bright new environment designed by Tony Chi, is very exciting for us,” said Puck. “With a growing reputation as one of the city’s most dynamic dining destinations, and our location near the new Cirque du Soleil show that opens this year, MGM Grand is a perfect home for our newest concept.”
The menu features a contemporary twist on the classic “bar and grill” restaurant menu, accentuating Puck’s trademark standards for using only the finest and freshest ingredients. The diverse menu allows for a quick bite or a more leisurely dining experience, and feature appetizers such as Sizzling Mussels with Bernaise Crouton and Ricotta Gnocchi with Fennel Sausage; a tempting pizza menu with unique Foccacia with Meatballs and Foccacia Eggplant Parmesan selections, several Panini Press Sandwiches, including Lamb Pastrami with Gruyere, and a variety of entrée options, ranging from Prime Grade Cheese Burger with Vermont Cheddar and Smoked Onion Marmalade, to Grilled Flat Iron Steak w/ Maytag Blue Cheese Butter and Fries and a Grilled Salmon with Bocachini Pasta, Roasted Garlic, Arugula, Tomatoes, and Basil. A wide selection of California wines and delectable homemade desserts round out the experience.
“The new concept from Wolfgang Puck is a great addition to our line-up of world-class restaurants and chefs,” said Gamal Aziz, president of MGM Grand. “Wolfgang played a leading role in transforming Las Vegas’ fine dining reputation and we’re excited to have he and his dynamic team bring their talents to our resort.”
Together with his partners, Puck has made the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group restaurants the brand standard by which many other celebrity chefs measure their performance. The Wolfgang Puck name stands for innovative cuisines and relaxing décors that delight and inspire patrons every day. The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group in Las Vegas owns and operates Spago and Chinois, located inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Trattoria del Lupo at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, and Postrio in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino. The group operates restaurants in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Hollywood, San Francisco, Palo Alto and Maui. More information is available online at www.wolfgangpuck.com.
